Floor Installation
Installing the floor was one of the longest parts of the conversion, partly because it was done in winter when it was painfully cold to be trying to use glue. Several other jobs were done whilst working on various parts of the floor and by the time the floor was ready to be laid in, the carpeting of the walls and arches were already in place so the floor sat flush above them.
The load liner was firstly removed, which was glued to the metal van floor. This was to be replaced with a fitted thick ply floor that could have furniture and other items secured to it without screwing into the van floor.
10mm long batons were glued down to the van floor using incredibly strong adhesive. Once in place the floor could be screwed into this batons.
The floor needed several modifications to fit perfectly, but once in place provided a solid new floor ready to be carpeted.
